Poetry & Song
An extract from "Nocturne", a new poem by Aaron was put up at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (YST) for the 'Not Only Lines' project. Aaron says "I've always loved music (especially choral and classical) and have sung in choirs and ensembles since my teens. "Nocturne" is a tribute to music- makers, whose artistic works move and inspire people in ways that poetry does not. Recently, Namiko and I have been captivated and transported by the piano performances of our friend Churen Li-- a young musician of extraordinary skill and personality, and an illustrious alumna of YST. Her piano playing is like "a visitation of moonlight"!
Aaron has been commissioned on several occasions by the Singapore Youth Festival, collaborating as lyricist with musicians such as Maestro Kelly Tang and Americ Goh to create choral songs for young singers.
